The Employment & Professional Development Committee is committed to advancing workforce pathways for Central Texas parents. These culturally responsive programs equip participants with the training and support needed to thrive. By investing in upskilling our vulnerable populations, we help strengthen economic mobility and improve family health outcomes across Central Texas. Our current workforce development programs are focused on the maternal and early childhood care fields, where culturally aligned providers are urgently needed.
ACC Continuing Education
Austin Community College’s Continuing Education department offers a wide range of courses to help individuals obtain a job or a better job quickly.
Goodwill Central Texas
Prepares people for a long-lasting career
Offers free support to job seekers, no matter where they are on their career journey. They can connect job seekers with an expert who can help them build a personalized action plan plus provides an online library of resources.

Central Texas Food Bank Workforce Training Programs provide hands-on experience, industry certifications, and professional development in two key areas: Culinary Arts and Warehouse Logistics.
Dress for Success Styling & Career Session
Empowering women to achieve economic independence
We’re partnering with Dress for Success Austin to offer free one-on-one professional styling and optional career counseling sessions for moms and birth givers preparing for job interviews, workforce reentry, or professional growth.
Other Employment & Professional Development Resources
The Employment & Professional Development Committee recognizes there are additional career resources in our community that support job seekers and working parents. While we have not yet formally partnered with these organizations, they offer valuable services such as career coaching, job placement, and mentorship. These broader programs complement our work by promoting long-term economic stability and expanding access to professional growth opportunities.
Offers services to jobseekers, employers, veterans, youth, & parents in need of childcare. They partner with community non-profits, city & county offices, chambers of commerce, businesses, colleges, & universities to facilitate economic success.
Offers career mentorship. The Career Volunteer Mentor Program (CVMP) is a 6-week virtual experience that pairs JP moms with career professionals. Together, each pair will complete four 1:1 engagements using our CVMP curriculum. This program promotes cross-cultural learning and increases economic connectedness.
Economic Growth Business Incubator (EGBI) is a non-profit organization that provides training, coaching, and support to aspiring and existing business owners who face barriers to growing a successful business.
